PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
Approach Geotechnical and Environmental investigations are supervised by Taber's professional engineers and geologists to ensure quality work with the ability to make on-site decisions regarding the direction of exploration as the study progresses. Field investigations are then integrated with our soils laboratory testing program to effectively maximize data for our client's project and minimize overall costs of the study. Typical areas of Taber Consultants professional services include: Analysis Analysis and evaluation of field and laboratory investigation results are made by established and recognized geotechnical and enviro-geological principles. Stereoscopic review of aerial photography and use of an extensive in-house research library are common elements of study. Several commercially available environmental data bases are consulted for site history recorded in federal, state and local files. The Taber reference library includes over 5000 topical resource items and over 10,000 historical air photo prints. A forty-plus year accumulation of Taber Consultants job design-construction project files from over 9000 California locations is also an invaluable reference aid. A Pentium based network is the backbone of computer services
which provide in-house engineering support (e.g. STABL, SHAKE,
FRISKSP, COM 624G Pile Capacity, Inclinometer Analysis) as well
as computer aided design and drafting (AutoCAD Version 14-for
Windows) for presentation of boring logs, location plates, inclinometer
profiles, project control, etc. Reports of work summarize, evaluate and interpret the data obtained; discuss implications with respect to study objectives; draw conclusions from the data and evaluation; and, as appropriate, make recommendations for client consideration and use. Recommendations, consistent with the nature and objectives of the work, are definite with respect to project elements such as foundation type, elevation, loading; appropriately stable slope ratios; excavation procedures; subdrainage, embankment foundation preparation and construction; use of materials in construction; remediation procedures, monitoring program; location of facilities to minimize geologic hazards; etc. |
